Dollar sign disappears in Pages module

Possible other modules also, but I haven't had time to test extensively. Here's what's happening.

I'm entering a price with a dollar sign ($100) in the Pages module and hit submit. This works great. Now, however, I need to go edit a different area of the page. When I edit the page, '$100' is now '0'.

It is dropping the dollar sign and the next two characters. I need to remember I inserted a price and add the dollar sign and the next two numbers before I hit submit or my price is lost.

As always, I'm available for further clarification or testing. If there is an easy fix, I'm not sure where to begin.

I cannot reproduce this issue. Entering some simply text including the text '$100' works ok for me. The page displays correctly and the text stays as-is when edited.
