Could you consider programming an additional contenttypesapi that would make it possible to integrate more than one image in Content?

I think think this could be very similiar to mediasnippet.php.
The difference would be that the itemselector had no field for choosing a file. It could deliver a list of files choosen by category, module and filter.

I tried to do this myself but my skills in php are too low.
