News Project - Value Addon

News system module to manage news articles of your site. Provides multi-categorization, scheduled publishing, the basic management features and includes some high customizable blocks and plugins for the Content module.

At first the module will contain a copy of the Zikula News module (synced to the latest development) with some extras. In a later stadium the project will be seperate from the Zikula tree.

Ideas for extension

Some ideas for extension are already being discussed:

• Adding Attributes in a flexible way to a news article. You can think of Featured, citation of the origin, image, URL, etc.
• New blocks like Featured block, Tag cloud block based upon e.g. category and off course their cousins for the Content module. crpTag could be used here.
• Try to find better ways to distinguish between "current" articles and archived ones. And alternatives for displaying the archived news items would be nice.
