Hilope stand for "Hilflose Person" (eng.: helpless person), which is an abbrevation for cases, where is not clear what comes next. A person just drunken can be a hilope, but also someone with an heart attack. Everything is possible.
Personal facts
Born in 1973. Living in northern germany near Bremen. Married and father of a daughter.
I've worked with Commodore C16/C116/VC20 and Apple II since 1986 and have made experiences with BASIC, prolog, Turbo-Pascal and other languages. But never got to much into it.
Getting into contact with 286/386 computers was a big advantage for me. Beginning to play games like "Larry Laffer" and "Space Quest" was really exciting ... OS/2, Win 3.x and all the other fine applications were amazing me and i got into contact with other parts in the world by using FidoNet?. But the internet was growing and growing. So here I am :)
Postnuke/Zikula Experiences
I first started with Postnuke about 2001 while searching an system for an emergency medical services portal called hilope.de. I tried a few systems on php base. 2002 i decided to use Postnuke. In fact it was confusing me at that time but the more i worked with it the more i liked it.
My first work was a package for short-urls. I searched all hacks together in order to give shurt url possibilities to all system admins. At that time i also worked with the old rtemulti module, but development was not as expected and i tried using Xinha as replacement with some core hacks.
As the german community searches for a sponsoring project i offered Xinha as a module. Shortly after getting into the source and the programming basics i released the first version of my module "Xinha". But there were thoughts of getting more editors like Xinha to work with Postnuke and i tried to reorganise my code to build a bridge for editors like TinyMCE and FCKeditor. scribite! was born (just some days before the birth of my daughter ;) ). In the actual version it supports 5 editors and has many features for other module authors to get their modules to run with editors.
